Apprenticeships / Traineeships

Apprenticeships / Traineeships are a combination of work and training usually undertaken within the workplace to obtain skills and knowledge required within a certain industry. SILK can customise the chosen qualification and create a training programs that provides innovate and engaging training while adapting the individual with new skills and knowledge. Apprenticeships / Traineeships can be self paced, flexible and delivered on site for most nationally recognised qualifications (Government funding / incentives maybe available to eligible employers and participants).

Government Funding / Incentives

Individuals and or employers may be eligible for Government funding and or incentives. SILK will be able to discuss with you the different funding available and cost of training depending on the training solutions and delivery mode chosen. (NOTE: This training is delivered with Victorian and Commonwealth Government funding).

Work Based Training

SILK offers tailored workplace training across a broad range of industries and skill levels which is delivered within the workplace. This training is offered in a number of different formats which is suited to the needs of the employer and learner. SILK can provide one-on-one training or workshops for small to medium groups within the workplace, tailored to the needs of the employer and the learner.

Customised Training Programs

SILK can develop specific training programs to suit the needs of your workplace. These training programs can be tailored to specific timeframes and intensity of individuals, business and organisations that will impact the overall performance of all staff members (Government funding / incentives maybe available to eligible participants).

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is the acknowledgment of the full range of an individual’s skills and knowledge. It includes competencies gained through formal study, work experience and other ‘life’ experiences. By applying for RPL, SILK can match your skills and knowledge against a formal qualification or Unit/s of Competency. If what you have learned previously is relevant to the qualification you are currently undertaking, you may not have to complete certain parts (Unit/s of Competency) of the course. The benchmark in which you will be assessed against consists of the Elements and Performance Criteria of the individual Unit of Competency or all the Units of Competency within a qualification. SILK will ensure that RPL is offered to all applicants upon enrolment and discuss the process involved in applying for a RPL in your chosen course.

457 Visa Training Program

The 457 Visa Training program is designed to meet the Training Benchmarks announced by the Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC) in September 2009 which requires all employers who sponsor overseas workers on a 457 Visa to demonstrate their commitment to training.
